Day 18 - San Francisco

Last day, what do you do ?. Set off to use the famous San Francisco cable car, queued for an hour only to find it chose today to break down. No worries, off we walked, the plan being pick up some souvenirs and then a planned lunch at a nice restaurant. After a 5 mile walk we found the place, Cafe Zoetrope, owned by Francis Ford Coppola. Best meal I had on the whole tour, chicken cacciotore, probably one one the best dishes I have ever tasted.

Net had meatballs and spaghetti.

Net vs Food

Food won πŸ˜‚

If you ever get to SF and you like Italian food it's worth a visit.

We then took the cable car back to pier 39.

Had dessert on the pier, local strawberries with dipping chocolate πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Back on the Fish Harbour for happy hour drinks, nice barman Tony made us good cocktails.

We left with good intention for "one more drink" at SF Brewery. Once again, good drinks, good music kept us a little longer than expected. Met a nice couple Megan and Scott, they left early as they had a table booked, we left shortly after to find they had paid our check. This is my trick, not to be outdone we found where they were eating and contributed to their meal. Already had an email from them and I hope they keep in touch.

San Francisco has been a great end to our journey, met some really nice people and it's a city you can feel comfortable in.
