Day 19 - Heading home

All packed and ready to travel, extra suitcase purchased, as expected.

Called at Mel's Diner for breakfast.

Top song on our table juke box, Take it easy, been the tune of the whole trip.

A quick drive across the Golden Gate Bridge before we set off for the airport.

At the airport and catching the last local sports and local beers.

Yes I know Stella is not local but that seems to be the predominant beer that I have drank this holiday.

Long long day, in reality long 2 days. We left the hotel at 9am on Saturday and finally got home just before 9pm on Sunday. Taking into account the 8 hour time difference we stayed awake 28 hours.
Flying back from SF with British Airways on the giant A380 and sitting on the upper deck.

Unfortunately BA don't compare with American Airlines who we flew out with. The food was poor and only offered drinks twice on a 9 and a half hour flight.

Nets screen packed in half way but due to the turbulence I don't think she could concentrate on a movie.

Landed at Heathrow and of course it took over an hour for the handlers to sort out the bags. Finally retrieved the car and set off for a nice amble up the M25, M40, M42, M6 and M55. Not quite the driving experience we have had over the last 3 weeks, a combination of road closures and overturned vehicles meant it took around 5 hours. Not bad really.

So now sat at home reflecting on the trip. I will give it more thought before sharing ............
