Day 6 - Springfield to Oklahoma - 290 miles

A long drive today, 7.5 hours behind the wheel, still got to the hotel at the perfect time due to our co drivers instructions. I just point the car where Net tells me and we always get to the hotel.

Started with some rain but soon returned to 86 degrees again.

Been in 3 states today,Sober, Drunk, Paralytic.😎

Actually, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.

Todays song(s) - Oooooooklahoma (obviously), 24 hours from Tulsa (we drove through Tulsa) and Somewhere over the rainbow (will let you work that one out)

Drove through some odd towns on route, especially this one 😳

Lots of links to the film Cars on todays trip as that told the story of Route 66 and the impact the interstate had on the small towns on 66.

Staying in Oklahoma City we decided to visit the memorial for the 168 people who died in the bombing. Beautifully laid out and a moving monument to them. The chairs are positioned in line with the floors where they perished.

Sad to see but makes you remember how lucky we are.

Italian food on the menu tonight and this place looks interesting over the road from the hotel.

If you ever find yourself in Oklahoma City look up the Bricktown area, lots of good restaurants and bars. We ate in The old Spaghetti Factory which was superb, finished off with drinks in a bar called Fuel. As they said in the Blues Brothers, "we play both sorts of music in here, Country, and Western".
